Expanding Access to Healthcare for Every Georgian

Rising healthcare costs and a lack of access to healthcare impact everyone in our community, expanding Medicaid to cover more families in our community and pursuing policies that will expand access to healthcare for everyone in Georgia is a top priority. Gabe supports policies that will lower the costs of insurance, medical treatment, and prescription drugs, and he believes healthcare should be comprehensive, including mental health care, and dental and vision care. Everyone deserves access to the care they need to be in good health, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic exposed vulnerabilities in our healthcare system.

Protecting Our Civil and Voting Rights

Gabe believes that our community and our state should be free of discrimination and restrictions on our rights. He will be a champion for our civil and voting rights, opposing Republican voter suppression tactics and standing against “the big lie” about election fraud in the 2020 election. Voting in Georgia should be easy and transparent for all eligible voters, and we must address restrictions on voting that make it harder to vote early or absentee by mail, lengthen lines at the polls, and lead to registration issues for voters.

Gabe will stand against Republican attacks on the rights of women, including legislation that restricts reproductive choice, and advocate for policies that prevent discrimination against communities of color, immigrants, and our LGBTQ community. Our state is at its best, when everyone feels welcome, and we need a State Legislator who knows that by heart. Gabe also believes in criminal justice reforms and addressing outdated laws, including ending the prohibition of marijuana in Georgia.

An Economy Where Everyone can Thrive

While our economy has rebounded in many ways after the COVID-19 pandemic, many in our community continue to face challenges with rising inflation, high gas prices, increasing housing prices and wages not keeping up with the cost of living. Gabe will work as a State Legislator to promote policies that will keep our economy moving in the right direction without leaving Georgians behind. He supports creating good jobs here in Georgia, raising the minimum wage to at least $15 an hour, the rights of labor to organize in the workplace, and lowering the tax burden on working and middle class families while ensuring large corporations and the top 1% pay their fair share and can’t use tax loopholes only they have access to. As a small business owner, helping Georgians start businesses and become successful entrepreneurs is an issue that is near and dear to him. He will work to address red tape and listen to our local business community about the challenges they are facing and how state government can help. Gabe believes that education is the path to better employment opportunities, and to that end, he supports fully funding the HOPE scholarship, restoring the harmful cuts from the last decade, and creating pathways for more Georgians to pursue higher education, trade school, and apprenticeship programs.

He will also champion paid family and sick leave for every Georgian, a tax credit to help cover childcare expenses, hold the Labor department accountable for issues processing unemployment benefits that Georgians have earned, and long term gas tax relief and electric vehicle tax credits, along with exploring ways to address our housing affordability crisis at the state level. We cannot let politics get in the way of Georgians having a secure economic future.

Supporting Our Public Schools

As a parent of Gwinnett County Public Schools graduates, Gabe has been involved in our local school system, and knows that parents, students, and our educators need support, not hostility from state Government. Gabe opposes legislation that would censor the discussion of important issues in our classrooms, and will against attacks on our educators that hinder academic freedom. Parents, our local school board, and teachers should be responsible for what is taught in our classrooms, not state bureaucrats pursuing ideological agendas that hinder our students receiving a quality education.

Gabe will work to fully fund our public schools updating our outdated QBE formula, increase teacher pay, and work on legislation to improve services in our schools including mental healthcare, while opposing efforts to stop requiring vaccinations in our schools. Our students deserve to be healthy at school, learning in safe classrooms that are well resourced.

Transparency and Ethics

Transparency and ethics in government is important, Gabe will advocate for policies that prevent corruption in State Government, reform our broken campaign finance system, and prevent political insiders from profiting with taxpayer dollars. Gabe will pursue an audit of state government contracting and operations, and advocate for policies that hold those who damage the public trust accountable.

Investments To Strengthen Our Community

Gabe will fight to ensure our district gets investments that strengthen our community, including funding for better transit and road infrastructure to address our traffic gridlock in Gwinnett, investments in our libraries, social services, public safety, colleges, universities, and trade schools, and healthcare systems. Gabe will work with our local business community, and Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County Government to help deliver state funding for key priorities that our local leaders have set.
